A "Disc not recordable or finalized" error occurs when the system attempts to record a disc that has already been recorded on. Make sure you are using new media. If you are using new media and this error occurs, try using a different brand or batch of discs.

This can also indicate that the recorder is failing and may need to have its firmware updated or be replaced.
