The Rimage services interacted directly with IOF and POF files in 5.x and earlier software.  In 6.x and newer, the Rimage services were modified to use an XML messaging system.  Bridge Server was created at that time to convert IOF/POF orders to XML for legacy applications that were not upgraded to use Network Publisher or the Rimage API.
