Several factors can cause faint or low quality prints with the Prism printer. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to determine the cause of the low quality prints.
- Make sure you are using a thermal printable disc and not an inkjet disc. Thermal discs have a hard and shiny surface, and inkjet discs have a matte or paper-like finish.
- Make sure you are using Rimage brand ribbons.
- Replace the print ribbon. Old ribbons can dry out and cause faint or low quality prints.
- Increase the print strobe within the Perfect Image Printer PF printer driver. If your system is attached to a Rimage Producer autoloader, also change this setting in the Prism on COMx driver. Refer to the Prism Printer User Guide for instructions.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, the print head may be worn. Contact Rimage Technical Support to obtain a replacement print head (if covered under maintenance contract/warranty) or Rimage Account Services to purchase a replacement.
