Prism - Disabling advanced printing in the Prism driver.

  • Updated

The Prism printer was originally designed for use with parallel printing, and it supports a mini-Centronics parallel connection. During install, the driver enables a setting that allows the printer to work correctly through the parallel connection. If you are using a USB connection, this setting can cause undesirable results from the Prism, including slow printing, loud printing noises, and low print quality. Use the procedure below to disable this setting.

1. From the Windows Start menu, select Printers and Faxes. The Printers and Faxes window opens.

2. Right-click on Perfect Image Printer PF.

Important! You may see a driver for Prism on ComX. This driver is for the printer's robotics and should not be changed.

3. Select Properties. The Properties window opens.

4. Select the Advanced tab.

5. Clear the Enable advanced printing features checkbox near the bottom of the Properties window.

6. Select OK.
